(ANSA) - BRASILIA, 21 MAY - The Brazilian president, LuizInácio Lula da Silva, will return to Brazil from the G7, in Hiroshima, without having had a bilateral meeting with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky: CNN Brasil reports.
Sources at the Palacio do Planalto (seat of the Brazilian Presidency) did not explain why the meeting between the two leaders did not take place, but specified that the Lula government had nevertheless proposed a time to receive Zelensky.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the most "disappointed" by the lack of bilateral meeting between Ukraine and Brazil was Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. He said this at a press conference on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima. Zelensky confirmed the Brazilian government's version that there had been an incompatibility of agendas. "Regarding the situations of my meetings, I met almost everyone, all the leaders, and everyone had their own agendas, so I think that's why we couldn't meet the Brazilian president," the leader of Ukraine said.
