British actor Ray Stevenson, who portrayed Wolsteg in the Thor film series as well as the evil governor in the Oscar-winning Indian film RRR, has died. He was 58.
Stevenson died on Sunday, four days before his birthday, his public relations person told The Hollywood Reporter. The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reports that he was recently admitted to a hospital on the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples, where he was staying for the filming of the film "Casino Basquia," directed by Frank Chiotta. In the film he played an elderly action film actor who comes to Italy in order to revive his career.

Due to his tall height, Stevenson was a prominent figure in the films in which he participated, as well as in public appearances. He became known to audiences around the world when he appeared in the HBO series Roma, which aired from 2005 to 2007, where he played soldier Titus Polo. He also starred in the 2008 film Punisher: War Zone and in films such as G.I. Joe. He also took part in the next Star Wars film.
No further details about the circumstances of his death are known at this time.
