The current Tatort ventured into the world of e-sports and gaming in the episode "Game Over". However, terms like "aimbot" or "camper" left most viewers perplexed.
Munich – Tatort and Gaming? Two different worlds collide. Many certainly interpret this as an attempt by public broadcasters to reach a younger audience. However, this happens a little at the expense of the usual Tatort viewers, who can do very little with the terms from gaming and e-sports. On the other hand, their comments on the episode are all the funnier.

"I don't know a single term..." – Tatort viewers have a hard time with gaming terms
What happened? Before the broadcast of the current episode with the Munich cult investigator duo Batic and Leitmayr, the Tatort Twitter account prepared viewers for the episode. It said: "Careful! For today's crime scene you need these vocabulary: Discord, Counter-Strike, Swatting, Replay, Camper, Reddit, Wallet, Cheats, Wall-Hack, Aimbot, Raspberry Pi. Please prepare this quickly. We'll ask about that."
If you are reasonably familiar with the common platforms on the Internet and video games, a large part of these terms should not be foreign words. But with the traditional Tatort audience, however, things look different. For example, they commented: "I don't know a single term...", or simply "Huh?".
Tatort viewers take it with humor: Of course, there is no shame in the fact that you are not up to date with all trends with your age – even if the "Counter Strike" discussed in Tatort is a classic. Even if Batic only replies: "That's banana split too". In any case, the audience takes it calmly, like comments like "I know all the terms. So I'm still young." Or "No problem... all known Yolo."

Crime scene "Game Over": This is how authentically gaming and e-sports were portrayed
An e-sports team helped out at the crime scene: The producers have made every effort to portray the world of gaming and e-sports as authentically as possible. To do this, you have used Munich eSports e.V. to obtain first-hand expertise. As a result, the topic and the use of the terms "camper", "wallhack" or "aimbots" did not seem forced, they were illustrated in a quite understandable way. Although the e-sports tournament and video games only formed the framework for the plot and the murder case, it is quite possible to provide at least a small insight into this world.

My Area
Tatort viewers notice other mistakes: Instead, viewers were bothered by other details, such as the fact that the perpetrator's car appeared as two different Mercedes models in the episode. And the locals of Munich may also have noticed that the arena in which the e-sports tournament takes place is not located in the trade fair city. Because this is the Audi Dome, where the basketball players of FC Bayern, among others, play their home games.
