Munich – Consumer advocates regularly warn the public when product recalls are ordered by food manufacturers. Just recently, the confectionery manufacturer Haribo sounded the alarm and informed about an urgent recall of a liquorice mixture. According to the company, impurities have been found in the product.
At Kaufland, a pasta product recently had to be recalled. Consumer advocates are currently informing about a recall for a barbecue sauce - just now that the weather is finally becoming summery and invites you to grill. Urgent recall: Allergy sufferers need to be careful with this sauce for grilling
According to the recall warning of the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, due to a labeling error on the front and back of the bottle, the allergens mustard and milk may not be labelled for individual products with the product labeling "Hungarian-style barbecue party paprika sauce". Allergy sufferers should refrain from consuming the product as a precaution.

Allergic reactions to certain foods manifest themselves in very different ways, for example in the form of swelling of the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose and throat. But symptoms in the gastrointestinal area such as nausea, vomiting, flatulence and diarrhea are also possible.
However, according to statistics from the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, the most common reasons for product recalls by food manufacturers are microbiological contamination by germs, viruses or bacteria.
Sauce for grilling affected by urgent recall
According to the report, the recall only affects the product with an expiration date of February 25, 2024, which also stands out in color from the original Hungarian-style paprika sauce. Other varieties of sauces or products with a different best-before date (BBD) are not affected by the recall.
