From the red carpet to the carpet... of his living room. While on May 1, Serena Williams publicly announced her pregnancy at the Met Gala, it is at home, in her Miami property that the tennis star immortalized a great moment: that of the announcement to her daughter. In a video posted on her YouTube channel on May 24, the athlete explained to 5-year-old Olympia that she was going to be a big sister. A news that the young mother was looking forward to reveal, she who said she was "really, really excited to see [the] reaction" of her youngest.

Shouts of joy and frantic dancing
In this 4-minute video, the tennis player begins by filming a positive pregnancy test, while saying she is "super happy" with this new chapter. Then the scene looks like a family reunion begins, her husband Alexis Ohanian, their daughter and herself sitting religiously on the sofa.
"Do you remember when you were praying for a little sister or a little brother?" asks Serena Williams, addressing Olympia, visibly listening. "Well, we went to the doctor and I didn't get fat, but I have a baby in my belly!" she continues, alongside her husband Alexis Ohanian. "Are you kidding?" the little girl replies, before shouting with joy and hugging her mother. The two parents, rejoiced, witness the explosion of joy of their child, obviously ready to invest his role as eldest.
"Mom, you're fat"
Especially since Olympia had noticed her mother's physical change. In the video, the 23-time Grand Slam winner says her daughter has "gotten really stressed" about her weight gain, not understanding why. "Mom, you're fat," the little girl would have slipped him, in a distraught voice... A reflection that Serena Williams "tried not to take personally". Everything must have made sense in the little girl's mind when her mother revealed her baby bump.
