The President of the EU Commission Ursula Von der Leyen continued the inspection of the flooded areas. After the press conference with Prime Minister Meloni at the airport in Bologna, Von der Leyen moved by helicopter to Romagna together with President Stefano Bonaccini, Minister Raffaele Fitto and the head of Civil Protection Fabrizio Curcio. By car he reached the banks of the river in the San Rocco area: a river that last week flooded several houses, where many young volunteers have worked in recent days to clean the mud. Then she headed to Piazza del Popolo for a meeting with the mayor Enzo Lattuca and the citizens.

In the square, representatives of the police and rescue forces, the 70 municipal employees who worked day and night as emergency volunteers, and also French, Slovak and Slovenian civil protection workers who came to help. "We will give all possible support," said the president of the EU Commission. "You were great. I know you haven't slept for a few nights. It's amazing what you've been able to do." Ursula von der Leyen on the banks of the Savio in Cesena, the first river that flooded last week, is excited and shocked to see the flooded areas. "It warms the heart to see your boldness, your courage. The most important thing is your motto 'tin bota'", she said accompanied by Mayor Enzo Lattuca in the place where the river came out of the banks. "It's amazing to see these natural disasters and devastation," he added. Several people greeted her and someone gave her a bag of piadina, a Romagna doc product. The mayor also gave him the sign indicating the name of a street, via Misano, covered by mud, to make her understand how far the water has come. A child who wanted to see Ursula von der Leyen up close in Cesena ended up with his feet in the mud and it was the President of the European Commission herself who offered him a hand, to help him get out. This is the scene that occurred on the banks of the Savio river, where the president was to personally realize the damage caused by the floods in Romagna.

The square of Cesena, where there are also many children and young people, sang 'Romagna Mia' to greet Ursula von der Leyen, visiting the flooded areas. The President of the European Commission reached the town hall where she shook the hands of the mayors of the municipalities of the territory affected by floods and landslides of these days.
