New attack by pro-Russian hackers Noname057(16) on Italy. This time the portal for the issue of the electronic identity card of the Interior Ministry was targeted, which in fact is not reachable.
The experts of the Postal Police are working on the restoration of the service. As in the previous cases, the attack is DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service): in practice, a huge amount of requests are sent to the target website, which is not able to handle them and therefore to function properly.
On their Telegram channel, as usual, the Noname ironically post a message under the photo of a bear with the Italian tricolor and an identity card in the background. " Italy is ready to provide material support to Ukraine, but awaits decisive steps from its allies. No independence. Fortunately, our team can make decisions on their own, we went to the Italian russophobic segment of the internet and killed an electronic ID card website."
The Interior Ministry intervenes directly on the issue and corrects "The services of the electronic identity card are temporarily unavailable due to a technical problem in the provision of internet connectivity, following the fire that broke out yesterday near the Tiburtina station, which involved fiber optic cables".
Earlier, the pro-Russian hacker crew Noname057(16) claimed responsibility for a hacker attack on the ID card site. "We are working to restore its full functioning," they add from the ministry.
