Media crisis in the royal family: Kate Middleton visited the Chelsea Flower Show last Monday. King Charles and Camilla visited the same place and on the same day, but separately from the princess, and their appearance received less media coverage than expected.
Various sources have expressed concern that the visit of the King and Queen was saved by the sudden appearance of Kate Middleton.

A source close to the royal family told the Daily Mail: "His Majesty's appearance was very important to him. It's a shame that his visit with the Queen received less coverage than he expected. I hope he wasn't too disappointed."

Earlier this year, Prince Harry claimed that Charles and Camilla didn't like William and Kate drawing attention to them. The Duke of Sussex wrote in his autobiography: "Camilla and Charles don't like it for their own reasons, they have openly reprimanded William for it many times."
Harry was referring to one incident where his sister-in-law was supposed to perform at a tennis club on the same day Charles and Camilla were due to attend an official event. The Duke argued that this was strictly forbidden as it would ruin Charles and Camilla's chances of being on the front page of newspapers the next day.
Harry wrote: "This cannot be tolerated. Dad's press officer warned: 'Just make sure the Duchess doesn't have a tennis racket in any of the pictures.'"
