Friday, arm yourself with patience

If you plan to hit the road on Friday to reach your resort, Bison Smarte has published some recommendations of areas to avoid. Thus, you are advised to leave, cross or join the Île-de-France and major cities before 12 noon.

On the side of highways and national in the direction of departures, here are the portions to avoid:

  • The A1 motorway, between Paris and Lille, from 17 p.m. to 21 p.m.
  • The A13 motorway, between Paris and Rouen, from 12:22 to 15:21 and between Rouen and Caen, from <>:<> to <>:<>
  • The A10 motorway, between Orléans and Tours, from 16 p.m. to 19 p.m.
  • The A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, from 14 p.m. to 22 p.m.
  • The A50 motorway, between Marseille and Toulon, from 17 p.m. to 19 p.m.
  • The A9 motorway, between Orange and Narbonne, from 16 p.m. to 19 p.m.
  • The A61 motorway, between Toulouse and Narbonne, from 17 p.m. to 22 p.m.
  • The national road 12 between Rennes and Morlaix from 17 p.m. to 19 p.m.

If, on the contrary, you circulate in the direction of returns, the busiest sectors will not be the same. It is therefore better to:

  • Avoid the A13 motorway, between Caen and Paris, from 10 a.m. to 21 p.m.
  • Avoid the A11 motorway between Nantes and Paris, from 9 am to midnight,
  • Avoid the national road 165, between Quimper and Nantes, from 10 am to 19 pm
  • Avoid the A10 motorway, between Bordeaux and Paris, from 11 am to midnight
  • Avoid the A7 motorway, between Marseille and Lyon, from 9 am to midnight
  • Avoid the A9 motorway, between Spain and Orange, from 16 p.m. to 19 p.m., and between Montpellier and Orange, from 9 a.m. to 23 p.m.
  • Avoid the A61 motorway between Narbonne and Toulouse, from 11am to midnight
  • Avoid the Mont Blanc tunnel (N205), between Italy and France, from 11 am to midnight

Saturday and Monday, be careful on the roads

Saturday will also be busy throughout the France with the last departures. You will have to leave or cross the Ile-de-France region before 8 a.m. if you want to avoid traffic jams, as traffic will be heavy towards the toll barriers. In detail, here are Bison futé's recommendations:

  • Avoid the A13 motorway, between Paris and Caen, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m.
  • Avoid the A10 motorway, between Orléans and Tours, from 11 a.m. to 14 p.m.
  • Avoid the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, from 11 a.m. to 17 p.m.
  • Avoid the A9 motorway, between Montpellier and Narbonne, from 10am to 12pm
  • Avoid the A75 motorway, between Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier, from 11 a.m. to 13 p.m.
  • Avoid the A62 motorway, between Bordeaux and Toulouse, from 10am to 12pm
  • Avoid the A61 motorway, between Toulouse and Narbonne, from 10 a.m. to 14 p.m.

Finally, Monday will see holidaymakers return home at the end of this three-day weekend, which will again cause traffic on the roads. However, only Île-de-France, which it is advisable to reach or cross before 14 p.m., and the northwest of the country are concerned by this orange alert. The main points of difficulty to avoid will then be:

  • The A11 motorway between Le Mans and Paris, from 16 p.m. to 19 p.m.
  • The A13 motorway, between Caen and Paris, from 10 am to 20 pm
  • The A7 motorway, between Marseille and Lyon, from 12:18 to <>:<>
  • The A9 motorway, between Montpellier and Orange, from 11 a.m. to 13 p.m.
  • The A62 motorway between Toulouse and Bordeaux, from 16 p.m. to 18 p.m.
  • The A61 motorway between Narbonne and Toulouse, from 15 p.m. to 19 p.m.
  • The national 165 between Quimper and Nantes from 10 am to 19 pm

The returns will generally be spread out between mid-morning and early evening, says Smart Bison. However, the A10, A13 and A7 motorways are expected to experience significant difficulties by mid-afternoon.
