How does an apartment composter work?

To activate the decomposition, microorganisms must be added, which must also be natural in order to respect the ecological process. An apartment composter is equipped with a lid in order to be as airtight as possible and not to emit bad odors. However, oxygen and water remain essential for fermentation. Therefore, it is advisable to aerate the compost from time to time so that what is there does not mold. Note that if your compost is too wet, you can add biodegradable materials such as tissues, sawdust, newsprint or wood chips. If, on the other hand, you find it too dry, add a little water. It is also recommended to brew the compost from time to time, either by hand with gloves, or with a shovel, it is often provided in kits. You will mix the different layers in order to obtain a compost as homogeneous as possible.
Which composter to choose in an apartment?
