The body of a man who was being searched in the Avellino area was recovered after the water bomb that hit the territory of the municipality of Forino, in the province of Avellino, in particular in the hamlet of Celzi and in other nearby municipalities, was recovered. The man would have been run over by his car, parked on a slope, while trying to recover it in a land invaded by water. The man, 45, from Contrada, was working in a chestnut grove.
The plain of the hamlet Celzi of the small town of Forino (Avellino) has been repeatedly affected by flooding during various waves of bad weather. It is a territory particularly exposed to hydrogeological instability, where citizens have been calling for decisive interventions for decades. The most recent episode dates back to last November, when some families were rescued on board rubber dinghies because of the water that had invaded the hamlet.
