Alberto Stasi at external work, every day he leaves prison

For four months Alberto Stasi, since December 2015 in prison in Bollate to serve the 16-year sentence for the murder of his girlfriend Chiara Poggi on August 13, 2007 in Garlasco (Pavia), goes out every day to go to work outside and then return. To give the news today is the Corriere della Sera, explaining that the 39-year-old has been admitted by the surveillance court of Milan to external work.
Stasi carries out accounting and administrative tasks, with strict requirements on the times of exit and return to the cell, on the means of transport that can be used, on the routes from which not to deviate and on controls.
In 2015 the final sentence for Stasi, after the annulled acquittals of 2009 and 2011, had reached 16 years through the reduction of one third of the sentence.
In favor of Chiara's parents, one million euros in damages and 150 thousand euros in legal costs had been set. The 39-year-old, the newspaper explains, while continuing to reject the verdict, in 2018 reached a civil court with the Poggi family a transaction that commits him to compensate 700 thousand euros: half already paid and half promised with monthly deductions on work salaries first in prison and then outside.
Stasi has the end of the sentence in 2030, but for good behavior with the deduction of 45 days of early release every 6 months can anticipate it in 2028, with the possibility of requesting probation from 2025.
