Not criticized is praise enough: This seems to be a motto of some superiors. However, such behavior does not make sense for the motivation of employees.

Five rules on how bosses praise better – from interest to gratitude
If supervisors want their employees to feel comfortable and valued, it is advisable that they have a space where they can express ideas. Supervisors are well advised to lend a sympathetic ear to employees and ask questions about ideas and suggestions. When people feel heard and perceived, identification with the team and company increases. What's also good:
- Giving employees a stage: Supervisors should also mention ideas that come from their team in larger groups, referring to the person in question. This reinforcement makes people feel more important to a company.
- Show gratitude: Do employees lend a hand and see tasks without being informed and complete them? This should be noticed and addressed by superiors.
- Further education: Do your employees want to develop further and do something for their health or the company? This can be done, among other things, through educational leave – supervisors can encourage this.
- Return the favor: It's not just words that show gratitude and appreciation – if something went particularly well, employees can also be rewarded with deeds.
- Show interest: If supervisors ask questions and give employees an open space for communication, this also contributes to a more relaxed working atmosphere.
Praise, but right: Two conditions must be right
If supervisors want to use praise and appreciation for the motivation of employees and hope that the productivity of the team will be increased, two things must be right.
