After giving a first taste of AI-powered search during the developer conference on May 10, Google has opened the waiting list to try the Search Generative Experience in the last few hours.
The novelty is available to all users residing in the United States. Search Generative Experience is the next era of AI-powered search engines and follows developments made by Microsoft with ChatGpt-powered Bing. US surfers can therefore request access to the Search Labs service, with the preview of various tools, including web browsing based on Bard, the competitor of ChatGpt. Unlike its rival, the Search Generative Experience does not focus on a chat window, prominent compared to the rest of the experience, but retains a structure similar to traditional Google. Below the search box, Bard will show a summary of the answer produced as a result of the questions, with any accompanying photos and videos. Below this information there will be the classic links, but they are also shown with a better visual impact, all with photos and short descriptions, where possible.
At the bottom of the summary provided by the AI, you will see other questions suggested by Bard, with the opportunity to ask your own. The conversational mode will take into account the history of previous requests, to provide contextual and consistent responses. In addition to the Search Generative Experience, Google has also opened access for two other AI features in its products. The first is Code Tips, to help write computer code. While Add to Sheets allows you to add a search result to a spreadsheet, to create automatic lists with information and links.
