Kassel – With the rising temperatures, many people are digging out their dusty summer shoes again. If you have bought a few new slippers this year, be careful: The textile chain Zeeman has launched a recall in which it warns of ingredients that are harmful to health.

There may be metals in the "Ibiza women's slippers" that, in the worst case, can cause severe physical symptoms. "Investigations have shown that the slippers contain lead and plasticizers above the legal limit," writes the consumer center. Even the smallest amounts of lead are stored in the body and can cause poisoning over a longer period of time, according to produktwarnung.eu. Headaches, fatigue, emaciation are the first symptoms.
Plasticizers accumulate in house dust upon evaporation. They can cause infertility in men and are suspected of causing diabetes, produktwarnung.eu further explains. The consumer advice centre therefore strongly advises against the further use of Zeeman's slippers affected by the recall.

Recall: Ibiza women's slippers from Zeeman can be returned to a store
The slippers were sold in stores in Berlin, Bremen, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt in the period from March 2023 to May 9, 2023. Customers who have the affected slippers at home are asked to return them to a branch of the textile chain. The purchase price will be refunded.
