It all started with a verbal argument

After the incident, Chicago police released a statement saying: "A verbal altercation that occurred during disembarkation escalated on the lower level of Terminal 3 when a 24-year-old female passenger was punched by a passenger. The offenders were taken into custody and charged in accordance with the law."

The video shows one group struggling with punches and kicks while another group struggles on the ground, while pulling each other's hair. In the background, people can be heard shouting for security to get there, while other passengers run and try to separate everyone. At one point, some of the women lost their shoes during the fighting and continued the fight while barefoot.

Later, one of the women is seen using her headphones as a "weapon", until she is eventually knocked to the ground by a man who continues to punch her, causing the "crowd" to shout louder and try to stop the commotion. At the same time, another woman was pinned to the ground by pulling her hair. Another finally manages to rise from the floor, but some of her colorful braids remain lying on the conveyor belt.

Chicago police said: "A 24-year-old female passenger was punched by a passenger."

The two were arrested and charged

The City of Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) said, "Safety and security are always our top priorities. We work closely with all of our federal partners at the airport and municipal police to ensure everyone is safe in our facilities. In addition, the purpose of the Aviation Department is to create clear lines of communication with the various airlines, in order to provide them with resources in the field of public safety in the event of such occurrences."

The two men who started the fight were Christopher Hampton, 18, and Tambra Hicks, 20. Both are from the U.S. state of Illinois. They were arrested and complaints were filed against them.
