Voting operations are underway in Spain, where 35.5 million citizens are called to the polls for municipal elections in practically the whole country and administrative elections in 12 regions (including Madrid and the Valencian Community): as shown by the images of the public television TVE. The polling stations will remain open until 20 pm.
The only exception is that of the Canary Islands, where the clocks are shifted one hour behind peninsular Spain, the polling stations will remain open between 10 and 21 Madrid time.
The official results of the elections will begin to be communicated by the Spanish authorities from 21 pm. According to the most recent polls, the outcome of the vote is uncertain in several major cities, such as Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, and in some regions, particularly in the Valencian Community,
