(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 28 - Turnout down at 12 noon for run-offs in 7 capitals and 34 municipalities: the figure is 12% (sections (1,595 out of 1,595), down compared to the first round (13.86%). The website of the Interior Ministry communicates it.
In Sardinia, where voting takes place in the first round for 171 municipalities, the partial turnout at 12 noon is 17.17% (22.93% at the previous municipal elections).
The turnout figure bucks the trend in Ancona, Pisa and Vicenza, a sign of particularly felt challenges. In particular, in Ancona 13.26% voted (it was 12.32% in the first round); in Pisa 15.05% (14.44%); in Vicenza 14.21% (13.54%).
In Ancona, Ida Simonella (who had 41.28% of the votes in the first round) of the center-left and Daniele Silvetti (45.11%) of the center-right challenge each other.
Pisa is contested between Michele Conti (49.96%, center-right) and Paolo Martinelli (41.12%, supported by center-left and also Cinquestelle).
In Vicenza the challenge is between Giacomo Possamai (center-left), who obtained 46.23% in the first round and Francesco Rucco (center-right), who stopped at 44.06%.
Voting is also taking place in the first round in 128 Sicilian municipalities, including Trapani, Syracuse, Ragusa and Catania, but turnout is not yet available. (ANSA).
