Sunday of death on the roads, from Umbria to Puglia but also other regions were not spared from the accidents that caused victims. Two, with four young people dead and another in serious condition is the tragic toll on the roads in the province of Perugia. The most serious one with three victims occurred shortly before 4 am in the area of Lake Trasimeno, in Torricella di Magione, along the Perugia-Bettolle motorway junction; the other in Gubbio on the variant of the state road 219 cost the life of a twenty-six year old local known in the city for his passion for Ceri and motorcycles. Three more dead from a road accident in the afternoon along the state road 90, at Troia, in the Foggia area, which involved a car and two motorcycles. But the balance does not stop there. A 67-year-old man died in an accident in Bolzano Vicentino in the collision between his car and another car. Fatal accident also in Castiglion Fiorentino where a 34-year-old, of Romanian origin, resident in Camucia, who was going to work on a car driven by a colleague while a 16-year-old boy was hit by a car in Sardinia on the four-lane Sassari-Alghero road and is now hospitalized in desperate conditions. While the investment was fatal for a woman in Acilia, on the outskirts of Rome.
The most serious budget, however, is the Umbrian one. In Torricella, on the roadway towards Perugia, a small car on which four young people of foreign origin but residing in the Umbrian capital were traveling went off the road. The driver died, a teenager who had not yet turned 18 and another little more than the same age. The fourth young man was instead admitted to the hospital of Perugia with a prognosis reserve. To give the alarm was the driver of a second car that would have been overtaken (without however being involved in the accident) by the one that then ended up off the road after having torn off a part of the guardrail of the Torricella exit of the junction. It ended up in the escarpment below, completely destroyed. Particularly complex were the investigations on the identity of the victims and the injured. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Perugia has opened a file on the accident and will order an autopsy for the young driver. Investigators want to understand what may have caused the tragedy, evaluating factors such as speed, or ascertaining the possible use of alcohol. An exploratory file was thus opened in which the crime of road homicide was hypothesized.
The other tragic episode took place around midnight in Gubbio. Also in this case the car with the victim driving ended up off the road near a junction. Ending up in an underpass. Dead the young driver who seems to be returning home. "A good guy dedicated to sport" defined the mayor of Gubbio Filippo Stirati. The young man worked as an electrician but was also a fan of motorcycles with which he competed in the 12-inch pet bike category and even today he was supposed to participate in a competition in the Marche. In the city he is known as "passionate ceraiolo" for the Cero di Sant'Ubaldo, the patron saint of the city.
