(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 28 - Since its introduction, the superbollo has cost Italian motorists about 1.2 billion euros. Money that came out of the pockets of the community to enter those of the State, but which over time have produced alterations to the automotive market.
The data comes from Federcarrozzieri, the association of Italian car bodywork, which welcomes the hypothesis of an abolition of the superbollo.
"The tax was introduced with the DL. n. 98 of 6 July 2011, provides for a payment of 20 euros for each kW of power of the car exceeding 185 kW, with a decreasing weight of time. - explains Federcarrozzieri - The total revenues for the state coffers in the 12 years of life of the Superbollo, amounted to about 1.2 billion euros, but the tax caused heavy anomalies in the Italian car market: if initially there was a significant reduction in new registrations of cars with power exceeding 185 kW, subsequently there was the proliferation of "false leasing", i.e. cars with foreign license plates rented to Italian customers, with consequent non-payment of the car tax, superbollo, and various taxes.
"Then there is another issue to be analyzed, and that makes ilsuperbollo an unfair and unbalanced tax of the whole - denounces the president of Federcarrozzieri, Davide Galli - In the regions that do not already provide total exemptions of stamp and superbollo for electric or hybrid cars, new generation cars and with hybrid engines, although well over 185 kW of power, are not required to pay the levy. In fact, the superbollo applies only to thermal engines, and not to the electrical part". (ANSA).
