Lying on his back and smiling, with his legs towards the sky: this dog offers a special sight. That can't be cozy, can it?
Mistress Nikki (@nikkiandem) shares a video on TikTok with all the dog lovers in the world. Boxer Emma lies rolled out and frozen to death on the carpet, her legs grotesquely stretched outwards. This sight is not only cute, but really funny. Especially when you see the grinning face of the dog lady towards the end of the video, where the whole muzzle, due to the "sleeping position", falls up towards the eyes.
The video generated a whopping 1.3 million views on the social media platform TikTok. People are thrilled with the clever trick of the boxer lady Emma. "What's going through her head?" asks her mistress under the posted video clip.

Amusing sight: What the sleeping positions of the four-legged friends mean
Dogs have some similarities to us humans in terms of their sleeping habits, but they need a lot more sleep. Because even an adult animal has a daily sleep requirement of between 12 and 14 hours. Newborn puppies and older four-legged friends usually sleep up to 18, even 20 hours a day.
Whether in the dog basket, on the carpet, the sofa or even in the bed of its master, every dog sleeps differently. This also applies to the sleeping position.

1. Side and back sleepers in the dog basket
Many dogs sleep on one side, with slightly bent or outstretched legs. This position is very comfortable for some dogs. So if they feel comfortable in their environment, most dogs will lie on their side with peace of mind.
As soon as you discover a patch of your four-legged friend's belly while sleeping, you also know that he feels safe and trusting you. With this attitude, dogs basically make themselves vulnerable and only take them when they know they are out of danger.
2. Fluffy fox
If you spot your dog as a small, rolled-up donut on the couch, with his belly covered and tail attached, he may feel a little insecure and has adopted some kind of protective posture. Especially in winter, this sleeping position is also very popular among four-legged friends for weather reasons, as it provides a lot of warmth.
3. Stomach sleeper
Many four-legged friends sleep, especially for a little afternoon nap, simply on their stomachs, with their paws close to their bodies. This allows him to get up quickly after a quick break, because his muscles are not completely relaxed in this position.

4. The Superman Sleeper
A dog that sleeps lying on its stomach, with its front and hind legs fully stretched out (as well as Superman in flight) is probably very exhausted from a long day of exercise.
5. The Lion Pose
As a kind of special form of stomach sleeper, a dog rests in the lion position with its head on its front paws. Often this posture is taken in a restless place, because your dog does not start to hibernate for a long time, but only allows himself a minute of rest.

Very amusing to watch – that's what the other TikTok users think too:
- "I've never met a boxer who wasn't a clown with a huge [heart]."
- "I am one with the ground, the ground is with me."
- "Not a single thought that day."
- "[She] has finally figured out what gravity does... and love them."
