Genovesi, a Cartoons poster and exhibition by Monica Manganelli

Highlights: Cartoons On The Bay -International Festival of Animation, Transmedia and Meta-Arts2023. 27th edition from 31 May to 4 June in Pescara, after the success of last year. At the festival will be presented in Italian premiere, Thursday 1 June 2023, the film The Knights of the Zodiac. Based on the famous animated series, it brings for the first time to the big screen the saga of Saint Seiya by MasamiKurumada in live-action.

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 29 - "Our task is not only to tell established authors and sacred monsters but also to discover and launch new talents still unknown. This is why I am very proud to have MonicaManganelli, director, set designer and creative director, back with us this year, who had already impressed me in the past and returns with a great exhibition on her works and also giving us the beautiful poster ". So says Roberto Genovesi, artistic director of Cartoons On The Bay -International Festival of Animation, Transmedia and Meta-Arts2023, promoted by Rai and organized by Rai Com, which returns with the 27th edition from 31 May to 4 June in Pescara, after the success of last year.
The poster is a tribute to the surrealist painting and allemaschere of the theater with a reference to the historical logo of the festival. Manganelli has signed the scenes of shows for the most important theaters in Europe including the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Regio in Parma, the Piccoloin Milan. He also collaborated on Cloud Atlas with the Wachoski sisters and also with Matrix.
At the festival will be presented in Italian premiere, Thursday 1 June 2023, the film The Knights of the Zodiac, directed by TomekBagiński. Based on the famous animated series, it brings for the first time to the big screen the saga of Saint Seiya by MasamiKurumada in live-action. (ANSA).
