This was announced by the local health ministry, quoted by the Wafa agency, which identified the man in Ashraf Mohammad Ibrahim (37), a former detainee in Israeli prisons and an agent of Palestinian intelligence.
Ibrahim - according to Wafa - suffered gunshots "to the abdomen and chest" in the clashes.
The army said that during the operation, armed Palestinians opened "massive fire" against soldiers and threw explosive devices at military vehicles. (ANSA).
