Expectations were high. Nearly five years with "Spider-Man: New Generation", a big success with more than $ 368 million at the box office worldwide and crowned with the Oscar for best animated film, the second opus "Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse" arrives in theaters this Wednesday.
Signed Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin Thompson, it should not disappoint fans. A totally crazy adventure, exceptional graphics, humor, Spiders by the hundreds, and superheroes always so endearing.
Starting with Miles Morales, the young South American mixed-race from Brooklyn who is now 15 years old and looking for himself between his life as a superhero and that of a rebellious teenager. His existence as a high school student takes spice when he finds himself attacked by The Stain, the very bad guy of the story, strange faceless character dressed in white and covered with mini-multiverse in which he escapes ...
But above all, he will finally find Gwen Stacy, the Spider-Woman and pretty blonde of his age met in the first opus and who does not leave him indifferent... With her, he will be catapulted through the Spider-Verse and his parallel universes.
Initiatory quest for teens and pop references for adults
In this world carried by a breathtaking graphics, between Japanese manga and American comic books, the two young heroes will meet Spiders more awesome than each other. Full of humor and full of references to the worlds of Marvel, this new opus takes the two young heroes on an initiatory quest at a hundred per hour. In particular, Miles will find himself confronted with crucial choices as a young adult. What meaning should be given to one's life? Should we save the world or the person we love? This animated film should unsurprisingly be a hit with teens who will not see the two hours and twenty pass and will have trouble waiting until next year to see the third opus. A feature film to see also with family because their parents will enjoy the many pop references. The first fight scene that takes place in the grounds of the Guggenheim Museum in New York is a little gem. It now remains to be seen if it will do better than the first opus that had attracted in France 788,000 fans of the spider-man!
