One of the intriguing participants in the new season of "Dancing with the Stars," which will premiere tonight on Keshet 12, is singer Narcissus, who due to halachic restrictions will dance together with dancer Michelle Riaboi, who danced last season together with Rotem Cohen.
"When they approached me from the production, I told them that I don't rule out at all, but I understand that this is something I need to examine for many reasons, and not only from a religious point of view, but also in terms of my abilities, times and willingness to do something like this," she says.
Was it a complex dilemma?
"We debated for a long time, until one day I had a show in Eilat and they called me to say they needed an answer. We did a conference call with the whole team, and the one who signed the final approval was my spiritual guidance. As soon as he gave me permission, we were on our way."

How did your rabbi react to the idea?
"I told my rabbi that it was a dance competition, that I would dance with a girl and that it was something different and new and they would maintain the values I represent. I have my path, my journey and the spiritual guidance that I'm sure of, and if they say yes, I'm going for it."
I assume there will be criticisms of this move, are you ready for that?
"I was born ready for criticism. Anything I do that is extraordinary, it's open to discussions and questions and questions. I live it, and I understand it, too. I think that today it depends on the person, and the period is also different. I work very much with intuition, and I'm in a relationship with God, and as far as I'm concerned, it's not one or the other. Not long ago I was at a very important acting audition and I asked the rabbi a question, and I got a negative answer and got off that role. You also have to know how to accept the 'no' and listen to it."
What about clothing?
"The only limitations were in terms of the clothes themselves, because the designs of the dancers are immodest, but the production itself and my partner Michelle kept it even more than I did. Everything was carefully guarded and meticulous. Besides, everything was open and I went for it big time."
Is dancing something that spoke to you before?
"I came from home with my groove and I move and dance on stage, but the world of ballroom dancing is new to me. A new world has opened up for me, but I have my swag and they'll see it."
