Juve: early hearing to today, close plea bargain

Appointment at 10.30 am at the National Federal Court. Juve can close today, with a plea bargain, its tormented season on the sporting justice side. The agreement with the federal prosecutor's office, led by Giuseppe Chinè, is close: this is indicated by the advance of the hearing after the referral for the so-called salary maneuver. The judges of first instance were to meet on June 15, with times already shortened, but the rite could be further shortened by the agreement to which Chinè and the Juventus defense is working in these hours. An agreement closed and certainly not yet official, but the advance indicates the mutual willingness to negotiate. The hypothesis is that of a very strong fine, for eventual, slight penalties (hypothesis -2) we would go to the next championship and not to this one that is already compromised: the -10 for capital gains applied on the championship in progress by the court of appeal after the indications of the Guarantee College is already afflictive penalty, given that the Champions zone is now out of reach. But there is also the possibility that the parties will find a common ground on a maximulta and that's it. In any case, with an agreement it would then pass to the green light of the attorney general of sport at the Coni and the signature of the federal president, in fact formalities if the parties find the right balance point. A first Juve request to negotiate exclusively on the basis of (slight) pecuniary penalties had already been excluded by Chinè in recent weeks: the prosecutor had therefore referred the club for accusations of having fictitiously reduced the salaries of its players in the Covid era, in reality spreading the skipped salaries over the following season. But now the picture is different: after that referral came the -10 penalizing, Juve with Calvo admitted that the capital gains chapter is closed, a maximulta would be admission of guilt and would close the doors to justice. On the other hand, to appear tomorrow, before the judges of the Tfn with an agreement, the fundamental condition is the certainty that from Turin no one will resort, once the chapter is closed, to civil compensation lawsuits. What will happen then with UEFA is another matter: the European sports justice is waiting to know the decisions of the Italian one, with the -10 and the plea bargain the possible exclusion from the cups could be only one year. But this is all to be seen.
