Sarah Jessica Parker is launching a book publishing company, SJP Lit, in partnership with independent publisher Zando, Deadline reports. The publisher will publish "far-reaching, comprehensive, thought-provoking, and heartfelt literary and commercial works that include international and underrepresented voices." The star of "Sex and the City" is expected to attract old and new authors and publish four to six books over the next three years.

In a statement, Parker said of the collaboration, according to Forbes magazine: "I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my new publisher, SJP Lit. I'm thrilled to be back in the book business and to be working again with the amazing Molly Stern and the brilliant team she's built at Zando. I make no secret of my devotion to books, the important role they play in my life, and my endless admiration for authors and storytellers. Therefore, it is simply a dream to have the opportunity to participate again in the discovery and support of extraordinary new voices. I feel particularly fortunate to be involved in the process of helping readers discover their new favorite books and authors – a task I take seriously and will pursue with passion."

On Instagram, along with a photo of herself reading "The Catcher in the Rye," Parker described the day as a "very special day" and said that SJP Lit "will be dedicated to publishing books that capture the imagination."

Parker had previously launched the SJP for Hogarth series for the Hogarth imprint of Penguin Random House's Crown Publishing Group, which published titles such as "A Place For Us" (promotional link) by Fatima Farheen Mirza and "Golden Child" (promotional link) by Claire Adam.

With SJP Lit, Parker will once again work with Stern. According to Publishers Weekly, Parker and Stern have also collaborated on Parker's book club. Zando also stated that the publisher will be "closely involved in the publishing process, from selection and acquisition to cover design and publication of the book on the market."
