After the first Oscar-winning part, released in 2018, it was doubtful that it would be possible to reproduce the feat of an animated Spider-Man remained weightless. However, we come out quite shaken from this second animated film. We even have the untimely desire to jump for joy.

Caught in the canvas of this new film from the first images, we take off for a sensory trip of 2h20. The shock is mostly visual. Paying tribute to Warhol, Lichtenstein, Munch, Bansky or Jeff Koons, all mixed with the latest trends in street art, even abstract art, this second film has fun with offset frames, primary colors and some blur effects that give an impression of 3D. Not to mention the phylacteries that pop up in the film as in the Batman TV series of the 1960s.
The tempo is frenzied, but knows how to slow down to offer nice moments of poetry or emotion. The dialogues are full of humour. We find this touch of impertinence mixed with a dose of punk quite surprising!
As for the plot, always joyfully irreverent imagined by Phil Lord (The Great Lego Adventure, Storm of Giant Dumplings), it features the young Miles Morales aka Spider-Man of the Third Kind. After finding Spider-Gwen, who caught his eye in the first film, the friendly superhero from Brooklyn, will be catapulted into the heart of the Multiverse, where he meets a team of Spider-Heroes tasked with protecting its existence. The problem is that he is not welcome in this universe. He will have to learn to redefine the meaning of the term "hero" in order to save the people he loves most...

Euphoric and full of energy, there is no doubt that this Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse marks a new turning point in the world of animation. By switching to a cartoon with an innovative aesthetic, the Spider-Man continues his moult. She is dizzying in mastery.
