Highlights: High pressure and sun will dominate from Scotland to Sweden, expanding also over England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. On the Mediterranean instead, especially between Italy and Spain, we will have thunderstorms for at least another 7-8 days. A wedge of the Azores Anticyclone has now positioned itself lazily between the British Isles and Scandinavia. Northern Europe is covered and protected by the anticyclone, while on the eastern flank fresh and unstable currents flow towards the Mare Nostrum.

Summer has arrived over Central and Northern Europe where high pressure and sun will dominate from Scotland to Sweden, expanding also over England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. On the Mediterranean instead, especially between Italy and Spain, we will have thunderstorms for at least another 7-8 days.

Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the www.iLMeteo.it site, confirms that a wedge of the Azores Anticyclone has now positioned itself lazily between the British Isles and Scandinavia: Northern Europe is covered and protected by the anticyclone, while on the eastern flank fresh and unstable currents flow towards the Mare Nostrum. In summary, from Poland and the Baltic area descend masses of northern air that, in contact with the late spring heat of Italy, develop frequent, intense and widespread thunderstorms.
In particular, in the next few hours, after a mostly sunny morning, we will still have thunderstorms especially on the Major Islands, on the Apennine ridge in subsequent movement towards the Tyrrhenian regions.

This will also be the script of the last day of May: more thunderstorms in the North-West, Alps, Pre-Alps, Apennine ridge, Major Islands and Tyrrhenian side; more likely in the afternoon, but with some clouds and some rain not excluded even in the morning.
June will also begin with a deceptive sun in the morning but in the afternoon there will be frequent downpours close to the reliefs and then downhill towards the adjacent plains, with a movement of thunderstorm cells mainly from North-East to South-West.

The Bridge of June 2 will be characterized by two faces: blue sky in the morning and clouds in the early afternoon. From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 we can do the same: 3 very similar days once again with the most probable thunderstorms in the North-West, on the Tyrrhenian and Apennine belts and on the 2 Major Islands.

IN DETAIL
Tuesday 30. In the north: afternoon thunderstorms over the Alps, Pre-Alps, Apennines. In the middle: at first sunny everywhere, then widespread thunderstorm instability. In the south: scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Wednesday 31. In the north: bad weather in Piedmont, rain in Emilia. In the middle: markedly unstable weather conditions. In the south: widely unstable, bad weather in Campania.

Thursday 1. In the north: thunderstorms in the Alps. In the center: at first sunny everywhere, then many thunderstorms on Sardinia, Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. In the south: scattered thunderstorms.

TREND: in the following days we will still have opportunities for scattered rain and thunderstorms, especially after mid-day.
