Among the many works left behind by Jonathan Geffen, who passed away about a month and a half ago, was the song "We", which he gave eight years ago to Yehuda Poliker. And that's a song coming out today (Tuesday).
"I composed and recorded the song, but in the end the song didn't come out because I felt it wasn't time yet," Poliker says in a press release, adding: "At that time, social alienation had already begun, but the 'we' still existed. Over the years, there were a few times when I thought about releasing the song, but I always felt that it was still too early and that we had to wait for the right time.

"About a month ago, at the height of the social protest and the rift created in the country, I remembered the song and the correct words of Jonathan Geffen, which so accurately predicted what would happen between us. I decided that there was nothing more to wait for, the song had to be released and it would be a mirror of what was happening.

"I asked them to find me the old recording and we started preparing to release the song. Three days later, I still hadn't had time to tell Jonathan that it was time for the song. We were shocked to learn of his passing. Dear Jonathan, I dedicate this song to you. Sorry I didn't have time to update you earlier. As always, your words are sharp and mostly relevant. May we all be healthy, that things will be better here, and that the 'we' will return..."
