Fraudsters are using ever new methods to try to get hold of people's data or money. The Federal Network Agency constantly warns of many numbers.
Kassel – The Federal Network Agency is trying to protect people in Germany from telephone fraud. Scammers try to get data or money from unsuspecting people by phone call or text message – some numbers don't call you.
The Federal Network Agency warns against these telephone numbers
Many people know it: An unknown number calls on your own phone. There is often uncertainty as to whether or not to lose weight. On the one hand, it could be a spam call or attempted fraud, on the other hand, an important call is also possible. "It is very annoying when you are called multiple times by an unknown number. You may call back and have an extremely high telephone bill," writes the Federal Network Agency.

The Federal Network Agency should also be informed in the event of unauthorised advertising calls, only then can it take action. Their website also contains up-to-date warnings and telephone numbers where consumers should not pick up. They can also search for a phone number to check if a caller is a possible scammer. Not only spam calls are displayed there, but also a large number of spam SMS.

The Federal Network Agency can only take action against telephone numbers that are communicated to them. However, if fraudsters call without a displayed phone number, the origin of the call cannot be clarified. As early as December 2022, there were warnings of an increase in calls without a displayed phone number. According to investigations by the Federal Network Agency, the numbers that are displayed will be switched off as quickly as possible in order to prevent further fraud attempts. Even Interpol warned of a scam.
