ACUM, the association that protects copyright in Israel, announced Thursday morning the winners of ACUM prizes in the field of popular music.
Among the winners of the prizes, which will be awarded at a festive ceremony on July 9 at the Cinema City Hall in Glilot, hosted by Yair Nitzani: Izhar Ashdot and Rami Kleinstein, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. Other artists who will receive prizes include Esther Shamir, Louis Lahav, Avi Aburumi, Odia, Anna Zak, Matan Dror, Peer Tessy, Paul Trunk and Jimbo Jay and Tamar Yahalomi.
Here are the winners:
The ACUM Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of Naomi Shemer will be awarded to Yizhar Eshdot, a musician, composer, performer, guitarist, producer and musical arranger and one of the leading musicians and creators in Israel.
The ACUM Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of Ehud Manor will be awarded to Rami Kleinstein, who for over three decades has left his mark on Israeli music, as a singer, composer, pianist, arranger and music producer.
The Uzi Hitman ACUM Prize for Achievement of the Year will be awarded to Peer Tessy's album "Field Radio".
The Inbal Perlmutter ACUM Prize for Achievement of the Year will be awarded to Taglit Laudia, a singer-songwriter and composer who broke into consciousness in the past year.
The Sasha Argov ACUM Prize for Achievement of the Year will be awarded to composer and creator Avi Aburumi.
The Yossi Banai ACUM Prize for Achievement of the Year will be awarded to author and creator Tamar Yahalomi, who broke out at the age of 16 and a half in the program "A Star is Born".
The ACUM Prize in memory of Yair Rosenblum for Achievement of the Year will be awarded to arranger and creator Matan Dror, who over the past five years has become one of the most interesting, sought-after and leading musical arrangers and producers in Israel.
The Moshe Wilensky ACUM Award for Achievement of the Year for the song "Settle in the Kibbutz" by Paul Trunk & Jimbo Jay.
Two special awards from ACUM's Board of Directors will be awarded this year, one to creator Esther Shamir, while the second prize will be awarded to producer Louis Lahav.
Two additional prizes will be awarded at the ceremony to the most played works according to data from ACUM On Air - the system that monitors radio broadcasts in Israel: the ACUM On Air Prize for the most played Israeli work will be awarded to "Go to Sleep" performed by Anna Zak and the ACUM On Air Prize for the most played foreign work - "As It Was" performed by Harry Styles.
