(by Cinzia Conti) (ANSA) - PESCARA, 01 JUNE - The cold all to laugh diPera Toons, beloved by children, but also the wounds of war in the narration of a master like the Israeli director, screenwriter and composer Ari Folman. And then the imagined and imaginary worlds between utopia, reality and suspension ofMonica Manganelli protagonist of a retrospective, after having signed several productions in the most important European theaters, collaborated with the Wachowski sisters for Cloud Atlas, directed films such as Butterflies in Berlin and The Ballad of the Homeless.
There are many faces today of Cartoons On The Bay -International Festival of Animation, Transmedia and Meta-Arts2023, promoted by Rai and organized by Rai Com in Pescara.
"My films - says Folman, who stirred consciences with Waltz with Bashir and here presents his new animated film dedicated to Anne Frank - are never planned, they have arrived. Having had to deal with war as a soldier, I can say that it has nothing to do with reality, it seems almost a dream, indeed a nightmare. And to describe and try to tell all this - he adds - I do not think there is another way than animation, because it allows us to talk about subconsciousness in a non-artificial way, it serves to create compassion for what has happened and to seek the attention of the world". Unicef talks about invisible children. "There are 400 million children living in conflict zones - says Andrea Iacomini, spokesman for Italy - and over a billion fleeing climate risks with 33 countries involved". Decidedly lighter and more cheerful the atmosphere of the event dedicated to Pera Toons, stage name of Alessandro Perugini, besieged by children and parents in line for a comic signature. Aretino, born in 1982, "best-selling author in Italy", proudly says: "My target is children who begin to read. Many mothers and fathers, sorry I call them that because I'm Tuscan, stop me and thank me saying: 'My children have started reading with you, the problem is that then they tell me all day your cold, they invent new ones and you can't take it anymore ...'".
