(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 01 - "We will bring to the next Council of Ministers, or at most in the following one, the package of rules to which as the Ministry of Equal Opportunities we are working together with the Ministries of the Interior and Justice, for a first cut to the anti-violence rules: the law alone is not enough, without a cultural change, but it can do so much to make it as effective as possible is a categorical imperative for which we feel all the responsibility". This was announced by the Minister for Family, Birth and Equal Opportunities EugeniaRoccella in a post on Facebook.
"I do not usually comment on the tragedies that too often the chronicles propose to us - underlines the minister in the post - but horror seems to be limitless. An unspeakable ferocity, the one against Giulia and her child, and in addition to the ferocity of the indifference of a man who thinks of going on with his life after having 'canceled' the woman and her son. Even today, moreover, a policewoman killed by a colleague who then took his own life". Roccella points out that the measure was planned "before all this" for "a first cut to the anti-violence rules in light of the critical issues that emerged in the application of the current legislation".
