They will not cut it. The Council of State, in a decision published this Thursday evening, gives the government two months to introduce the technical control of two wheels. Faced with the inertia of the government, which is slow to implement it, despite a previous decision of the Council of State in October 2022, several environmental associations had again appealed to the highest administrative court.
Transport Minister Clément Beaune reacted immediately after the decision, saying that the government would apply "of course the decision of the Council of State" and that he himself would specify "in the coming days the schedule and modalities of the technical control," in a statement.
"The Minister for the Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion is ordered to issue the implementing order for the decree of 9 August 2021 on the implementation of the technical inspection of motor vehicles with two or three and motor quadricycles within two months of notification of this decision", writes the Council of State in its decision.
