The building and its designers won the annual innovation and design award of the international magazine Condé Nast Traveler, which also included the museum in the list of new "wonders of the world" in the field of architecture.

Israeli Product Designer

"Ami Derech, an Israeli designer who served as a professor and head of the Department of Industrial Design at Bezalel and passed away prematurely in 2012. Even though he passed away more than ten years ago, everyone who knew Ami can't stop missing him and wondering what and in what ways he would have surprised us if he had lived. I suggest looking at the works he created together with Dov Ganshroa in their joint studio, in the exhibitions they exhibited, and getting to know one of the most humane Israeli designers who lived here."

A must-see gallery

"The By5 Gallery at 5 Bar Yochai Street in Tel Aviv should not be missed. A few days ago, a smart and beautiful exhibition by Tamara Efrat (curator: Talia Yanover) was closed there, and now there is an intriguing exhibition (I haven't had time to visit it yet) by Michal Niv. This gallery is one of the only ones in the country that presents design and craft exhibitions. To date, there have been exhibitions by Yaakov Kaufman (curator: Meirav Rahat), Sharon Morrow (curator: Galit Gaon), Hanan de Lange (curator: Meirav Rahat) and many more."

Design store, worth buying a plane ticket for

"I'm a proponent of museum shops. On every trip I make abroad, there's no way I'll miss a museum shop I visit. I recently returned from a visit to the Milan Design Fair and visited the exhibitions at the MUDEC museum in the city. The museum's stores there adapt the sold collection to the exhibitions displayed there and now display spectacular 'surreal' design items."

An exhibition about to open at a museum worth knowing about

"At the end of May, the exhibition "Food Food" opened at Design Museum Holon (curators: Liora Rozin and Dana Ben Shalom). The exhibition examines the connection between man and food and the role of design in this relationship. The exhibition will present more than 200 design works, items and installations by artists and designers from Israel and around the world, including: Wim Deloé, Naoto Fukusawa, Forma Fantasma, Ron Arad, Studio Lernert and Sander, Bompass and Pe'er, Studio Mishar Traxler, Violet Landau, Aram Gershuni, Reddish, Eyal Pinks, Omer Pollak and more.

In parallel, exhibitions will be presented that complement and expand the discussion of food and its influences from additional perspectives: the exhibition "Hyenas" (curators: Lior Hermoni Gatti, Director of the Aharon Feiner Eden Materials Library, Design Museum Holon), which will deal with food colors and the role of the sense of sight to read, interpret and analyze the color of our food, its taste and its cultural meanings. and the exhibition "A Taste of the Future: An Interactive Sensory Lab" (curator: Talia Yanover), which explores the future of our food through sensory activation projects."

The exhibition you dream of curating in the museum and have not yet had time to implement

"I try to make dreams come true, however those related to exhibitions. Therefore, the exhibitions I dream of are the next exhibitions that will be displayed at the museum. Wait patiently and you'll hear about them soon."

A book that is a decorative item

"I'm addicted to dictionaries, so obviously to me a dictionary is a decorative item in every respect and has a place of honor on the coffee table. But can also highly recommend Rem Koolhaas's Elements of Architecture. The book is 2,333 pages long (a stable table is required), a fascinating and entertaining book that deals with, among other things, lintels, toilets, baths, ceilings and more, and presents historical stories alongside contemporary examples."

An interesting story that you remember most

"In the exhibition Zsa Tam Ronit Elkabetz (curators: Yaara Kedar, 2018) we presented the "sun dress" designed by Albert Elbaz. Since the dress was borrowed from the Art Decortif Museum in Paris and was considered a French national treasure, the French Ministry of Culture specially sent a safety officer to check the conditions in our museum. Later, the dress arrived in Israel accompanied by a representative from the museum, whose job was to accompany the dress until it was placed in the glass box where it was displayed and locked."
