The discounter Aldi Süd has been relying on vegan products for years. The latest goal is to expand the range to 1000 products by the end of next year.
Munich – In recent years, consumers have been able to watch the range of plant-based products in supermarkets grow. Oat drinks and the like have long been standard products and part of everyday shopping life. The vegan lifestyle is becoming more and more popular and is becoming more and more of a trend. This has not escaped the attention of the discounter Aldi: The discounter is therefore planning to expand its vegan range to 1000 products.

Aldi range is expanded to 1000 vegan products - vegans are at the right address
"At Aldi Süd, we also want to make plant-based products affordable for everyone and thus a more sustainable and conscious diet that has a positive impact on people and the environment. The expansion of our vegan range is therefore an important sign of the Aldi Süd dietary change that we presented this spring," said Dr. Julia Adou, Director Corporate Responsibility at Aldi Süd, according to a press release.

By the end of 2024, the vegan range is to expand to 1000 products - a goal that is already not too far away, as Aldi already has around 950 vegan products. The offer ranges from meat substitutes to plant-based cosmetics. The discounter has even developed its own vegan brands, including the "GUT Bio" brand.
Aldi itself writes that vegans are in the right place at Aldi and that the company has even received an award as the most vegan-friendly discounter from the Albert Schweitzer Foundation for our fellow world because of its large assortment.
Aldi's range is expanded to 1000 products and is to become healthier
Not the only reform at Aldi, more healthier private labels are also planned. In addition, there is to be a cooperation with Naturland, and there were already good talks on this last year. But the focus on vegan products is not always exclusively positive. In January, there was an advertising dispute between Aldi Süd and Nord – the reason was that Aldi Süd wanted to focus on Veganuary at the beginning of the year, as in previous years. Aldi Nord, on the other hand, wanted to put low prices at the forefront of its advertising campaigns. (Kiba)
