His first album, soberly titled with his name and published in 2021 by the English label Whirlwind, already had everything obvious: with Samara Joy, just over 20 years old, lovers of vocal jazz took it for a lease. Two years later and an album released under the prestigious Verve label that earned her some well-deserved medals - two Grammy Awards, including that of the revelation of the year all repertoires combined, and that of the venerable Academy of Jazz in France (created in 1955 under the aegis of Jean Cocteau) -, the native of the Bronx confirms and impresses a little more with Linger Awhile.
