(ANSA) - MOSCOW, 02 JUNE - Ukrainian forces bombed several settlements in the Russian region of Belgorod this morning, killing at least two women and wounding two others. This was said by the governor quoted by the RIA Novosti agency. The governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said a bomb fell on a road in the village of Maslova Pristan, Shebekino district. Two women who were in a passing car were killed and two men who were in another car were injured.
In yesterday's shelling, authorities reported 11 injuries, while Moscow's Defense Ministry said 50 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated as they tried to cross the border into the Belgorod region.
More than 2,500 residents of Shebekino district, the hardest hit by Ukrainian shelling in recent days, have been evacuated from their homes and are currently housed in temporary collection centres. (ANSA).
