Overconsumption of oil, engine breakdown... Tumultuous negotiations between Renault Group and 1,782 of its customers failed. Several dozen of them will file a complaint, jointly, this Monday, June 5 in Nanterre, to ask the justice to decide. The offences are serious – "aggravated deception, deceptive commercial practices" – and even serious: "fraud, destruction, damage and deterioration dangerous to people, endangering the lives of others", among others.
This "massive" criminal complaint is the latest step in a case that has poisoned relations between the manufacturer and its customers for several years. "We deplore the fact that Renault continues to manage these failures on a case-by-case basis while the group has known about these defects for a long time," sighs Olivier Blanchet, one of the victims. We regret that it did not organize a recall campaign. »
