This past weekend there was great darkness not only in Israel, but also in reports overseas, as gossip sites celebrated the alleged infidelity rumors of Benjamin Millepier, husband of Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman.
The French gossip magazine Voici began with reports that the 45-year-old Millepier, a successful choreographer, dancer and most recently director, had a brief love affair with a 25-year-old French environmental activist named Camille Étienne, whom he met while working at the Paris National Opera.
"It was short and it was over," a source confirmed to People about Etienne, a close friend of environmental activist Greta Thunberg and a household name in her own right, with credits that include a place on the list of "50 French Women Who Made 2020" and "The 31 People Who Made 2022," as well as making five films and writing a book, all about the environment.

Portman, 41, and Milfia met in 2009 on the set of Black Swan. They got engaged in 2010, married in 2012 and had two children: Alf, 12, and Amalia, 6. In August this year, Portman marked the tenth anniversary of their marriage in an Instagram post, writing under a photo of the two: "Ten years now and it's only getting better."
According to reports from gossip site Page Six, the two experienced a breakdown in their relationship last year that led to a brief breakup and reunion. Despite reports that flooded gossip sites over the weekend about the infidelity discovered by Portman in March, a source close to the two said they were still together and were even documented earlier this week days before the affair exploded in the media.
"Ben loves Natalie very much. He knows he made a huge mistake and is doing everything he can to get forgiveness from her and keep their family safe," a source said. "Natalie is a person who is zealous for his privacy, and she has no intention of managing this crisis through the media. Her top priority is to protect her children and protect her privacy," the source added.
Portman, who is currently promoting her much-talked-about film "May-December," was filmed walking alone on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Although insiders insist that the breakdown in their relationship was known to everyone who worked with her on the set of the film, in late May, the two were filmed kissing on the streets of Paris and were reportedly seen together at Beyoncé's concert in the city.

Last Thursday, just before the alleged betrayal was revealed, Portman shared with her 8.7 million Instagram followers a photo of herself buried with her head buried in a book whose plot focuses on the hardships of a betrayed woman, which, of course, in retrospect created a conversation about a hidden message she may have been trying to convey. As of this moment, no official response has been received from the two or Mateen.
