La Piedra, Jerusalem (La Piedra)
All the openings (and closings also, I wish we didn't have to), new menus and limited edition dishes, festivals and holidays, special meals and once-a-year events (we wanted to write New Year's Eve, but we realized a long time ago that almost every two weeks there is some kind of "The... International", and in our places that's reason enough for event).
A chef who is a guest and a chef who also hosts, a restaurant that dresses up and a team that changes places, why not, actually. A dish that gets its own roof (and walls), but also a "hole in the wall" is worth enough for us to report. Eilat and Haifa, the Sharon and the Shefela, and Tel Aviv (but by no means only it).
In short, get Israel's food news. And this time - birthday celebrations, happy meals and a lot of heart on the plate. And that's just the first course.
Enjoy!

Eighteen chefs, members of the Traveling Kitchen group, volunteered to participate in a special evening for the Atzmot Association, which works for cancer encounters (as they call coping) and their families.
The event, justifiably titled "Cooking Joy," will take place on Wednesday (June 18, 7 p.m.) at the Boys of Light Project Farm in Rashpon. It will offer Otto Wine wines in front of the sunset, live folk music, a performance by DJ Uri Hadar, and of course delicious dishes by members of the culinary-social venture - including Ayelet Shenhav, who was assisted by the association herself, and decided to give it back now. Price: 18 shekels, with all proceeds dedicated to enormous benefits.

Sharon Cohen's delicious two-headed monster in Tel Aviv celebrates 18 (Sheila) and two years (Jango) with intriguing, rotating guest appearances.
The festivities, under the concept of Resident Season, will provide a stage for young kitchen talents who will cook together with Cohen (and Gal Bakba, the executive chef of both places) a colorful 12-course menu. Chef Tom Levy was a guest here last week, Chef Jonathan Cohen will arrive on June 4-7 with stuffed dumplings and French toast on charcoal with spinach and blue prawns, Chef David Shoshan will continue on June 18-21 with zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and anchovies and calamari on Sicilian Caponate, and on the 25-28th of the month Liron Greenberg and Azure Portman will sign.
