The Cordovan Rodrigo López Besso (25), who had traveled to Spain for work, suffered serious injuries after falling from several meters from the cliffs of the coast of Los Abrigos, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, in Tenerife. After undergoing surgery, his condition "is serious."

Now, the family of the young man started a solidarity collection for his mother to travel there, to be able to accompany him in this difficult moment.

According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of the Island, the accident took place last Saturday, around 7.30, when a call was received requesting medical assistance for a person who had fallen from several meters high on a beach in the mentioned area.

After the alert, the emergency services were mobilized: the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, a basic life support ambulance and a medicalized ambulance of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), as well as agents of the Local Police intervened.

The firefighters were able to rescue the young man from Cordoba and in an official statement it was reported that when they assisted him, Rodrigo presented "different traumatisms of a serious nature" and that once he was stabilized by the health team "he was transferred by ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria".

"He was on his day off fishing in the cliff area, and we don't really know what happened. Only it fell. A young woman saw the sequence and is the one who notified the police," Rodrigo's mother, Marcia Besso, said with great anguish.

In a conversation with La Voz, Marcia explained that her son is dedicated to the gastronomic field, and that he is a native of Córdoba. And that with the arrival of the European heat, he went to make the season in Spain.

He also confirmed that the accident caused severe head trauma: "He had to be operated on urgently, but I was told that his condition is serious. The trauma has been very strong and now they are dialyzing him," he said.

This Monday, the Argentine consul in Tenerife, contacted Rodrigo's family to inform them that they are following the case: they removed the sedation and are waiting for him to react neurologically.

"

Since the accident that no one is with him. Nobody. One of his friends who is in Barcelona can just travel tomorrow (for this Tuesday). I'm desperate, she can't just be there," Marcia confided with great pain.

The solidarity collection

After the news of the accident, Rodrigo's relatives quickly started a solidarity collection so that Marcia can travel to Spain to accompany him. An order that initially started through social networks, Facebook and Instagram.
