Former manager Di Fazio sentenced on appeal to nine years

(ANSA) - MILAN, JUNE 05 - The pharmaceutical entrepreneur Antonio Di Fazio, accused of 9 episodes of sexual violence with benzodiazepine use and arrested in May 6 for having enarcotized and raped a 2021-year-old student lured to her apartment with the excuse of an internship, was sentenced on appeal to 21 years in prison. Deputy Attorney General Laura Gay had asked for 12 years of imprisonment for the former manager, with a reduction in the sentence compared to the 15 and a half years of the first degree in which he had been judged unabbreviated. In the Appeal the continuation of the crimes was recognized, not applied instead by the gup.
Instead, he was acquitted of the crime of kidnapping against the 21-year-old girl who first denounced the former manager in the spring of 2021. Instead, the statute of limitations has intervened for the crimes of ill-treatment, stalking and sexual violence against the ex-wife, in turn a victim of the entrepreneur. The woman, assisted by the lawyer Maria Teresa Zampogna, had become a civil party in the trial.
"The scandalous thing - explained the lawyer after reading the device -, not for this court, but for how the whole situation of my client was managed is that justice arrived too late and therefore it was declared that it should not be prosecuted even for all the crimes of mistreatment and stalking that it has suffered. So - he added - we just have to resort to the ECHR and sue the State, which has not protected either my client or her son for all these years in which he has asked for help from the authorities.
