The info not to be missed

After the suicide of Lucas, 13, last January, four students of the college of Golbey (Vosges) appeared for alleged facts of "school bullying" having "led to the suicide" of their classmate. The juvenile court of Épinal ruled on Monday, judging guilty of harassment the four college students, but it did not retain a causal link between these facts and the suicide of the teenager.

For the time being, provisional educational measures have been pronounced against them pending the next hearing that will decide on their sanctions, set for 22 January 2024. They face up to 18 months in prison. After the announcement of the judgment, Séverine, Lucas' mother, expressed her "relief": "The verdict that was rendered is good because the harassment is serious. Everyone needs to be aware of that. »
