2023-06-05T10:13:57.004Z

Highlights: The police prefecture expects between 40,000 and 70,000 demonstrators in Paris. The procession will start towards the Place d'Italie, in the thirteenth arrondissement. In Marseille, the appointment is given at 10:30 am on the Old Port. In Bordeaux, the demonstrators will make a loop starting around noon from the Place de la Bourse. After following the course of Alsace-et-Lorraine, the processions will cross the Place Gambetta, follow the alleys of Tourny.

Territorial intelligence predicts the presence of a thousand radical elements in the capital alone.

The quote, inscribed on the pediment of a stand of the center court of Roland-Garros, has enough to inspire the interunion. "Victory belongs to the most opinionated." On the eve of a fourteenth day of mobilization against the pension reform, between 400,000 and 600,000 demonstrators are expected throughout France. The union leaders intend to keep up the pressure on the government in a social conflict that has lasted for six months.

In Paris, the police prefecture expects between 40,000 and 70,000 demonstrators. The latter will meet on the Esplanade des Invalides in the early afternoon. The departure time is set at 14 p.m., as in the thirteen previous events. The procession will start towards the Place d'Italie, in the thirteenth arrondissement.

To reach the south of the capital, the processions will take the rue de Grenelle, the boulevard des Invalides, the boulevard du Montparnasse, the boulevard du Port-Royal, then the avenue des Gobelins to reach the Place d'Italie. This route will take opponents a stone's throw from the National Assembly, where deputies will vote on Thursday on a bill to cancel the postponement of the legal age to 64.

Radical elements

Protesters will also pass La Rotonde, a restaurant popular with the Macron couple and, for this reason, regularly targeted. Territorial intelligence is counting on a thousand radical elements, yellow vests and ultra-left activists, in the capital alone. To supervise the Parisian processions, several hundred police officers should be deployed.

In Marseille, the appointment is given at 10:30 am on the Old Port. It is from there that the processions will start, before joining the Porte d'Aix via the Place de la Joliette.

The appointment is set a little later in Lyon. The demonstrators will leave the Manufacture des tabacs around 11 am. They will then head north-west of the city on the Cours Gambetta, cross the Guillotière bridge and Place Antonin-Poncet, before arriving at their destination, on Place Bellecour.

In Bordeaux, the demonstrators will make a loop starting around noon from the Place de la Bourse. After following the course of Alsace-et-Lorraine, the processions will cross the Place Gambetta, follow the alleys of Tourny and the quays before returning to the Place de la Bourse.
