Munich - Peppers from Rewe's own brand "Best Choice"! A supermarket customer seemed to have been looking forward to the pickled vegetables. But she probably didn't even touch the contents of the package. Because when she opened the bag, she lost her appetite. She reports on this in a 30-second video on Twitter.

"I just opened this pack," she explains. "The first thing I see: dude... What...?!" You need good eyes to see what she wants to show the Twitter audience, but then you realize it: a dark hair seems to have strayed into the peppers. "For context: I have blonde hair," adds the Rewe customer, showing a few strands. "So really from the hairline to the tips." Her conclusion: "Dude, this is so disgusting."

In her posting, she also marks the Rewe Group and appeals: "Please check with your retailers how seriously they follow the hygiene regulations." In fact, she gets an answer - and at Rewe they are contrite. "Thanks for pointing this out. It's a pity you had to make this discovery. Of course, this does not meet our quality standards." Rewe asks for a direct message with their e-mail address in order to be able to investigate the matter.

Now, of course, not only machines, but also people are involved in food processing. Which, as is well known, have hair. Headgear is supposed to prevent them from ending up in the products - but if the foreign body in the Rewe peppers is really a hair, something probably went wrong here.
