(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 06 - A contribution of almost 50 billion to Italian GDP in 20 years of activity and an induced employment of over 30 thousand people generated. This is the contribution given to society and the national economy by Sky Italia in 20 years of activity, according to research by SDA Bocconi, School of Management, presented in Milan.
The tax contribution to the state coffers is over 20.5 billion euros - with an average of about 1.2 billion per year - and Sky's investments have generated a total induced employment estimated at over 30 thousand people employed on average per year, in the last 3 years.
From a qualitative point of view, the research shows how Sky has accompanied and promoted a social and cultural transformation that has stimulated the adoption of digital technologies, changing the way audiovisual content is produced and consumed. These spin-offs, together with the economic ones, have enabled a transformative process involving the narrative of sport, cinema, audiovisual production and the cultural industry, opening up new spaces for operators and industrial segments.
