About sixty CGT activists briefly occupied the headquarters of the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Cojo) of Paris 2024, Tuesday at midday in Saint-Denis, on the sidelines of the 14th national day of mobilization against the pension reform. "Several dozen CGT activists broke into the Paris 2024 headquarters for a few minutes to unfurl banners against the pension reform. This action was carried out without violence or degradation," the Cojo said.
In a video seen by AFP, CGT RATP activists can be seen waving torches and unfurling a banner in the atrium of the building, chanting "no retirement, no Olympics". The prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis counted about sixty demonstrators, and reports that the Cojo will file a complaint for minor damage: forced gantries, stains made by smoke, etc. The CGT RATP did not respond to AFP's requests.
A delegation from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is currently visiting Paris, just over a year before the start of 2024.
