Ships and planes to Colombia, D'Alema and Profumo investigated

The Digos of Naples, on the disposition of the Neapolitan Public Prosecutor's Office, is carrying out a series of searches in the homes and offices of Alessandro Profumo (in the role of CEO of Leonardo), of the former Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema, of Giuseppe Giordo, former director of the Ships sector of Fincantieri and of Gherardo Gardo, in the role of accountant of D'Alema.

The search order against the four suspects was issued as part of the investigations of the Neapolitan investigative office on the sale of ships and planes to Colombia.

In addition to the four, Umberto Claudio Bonavita, Francesco Amato, Emanuele Caruso and Giancarlo Mazzotta are also under investigation. All are charged with the crime of aggravated international corruption, as they would have acted with the help of an organized criminal group active in several states, including Italy, the USA, Colombia and also in others. The alleged facts date back to a date close to 27 January 2022.
